Getting Ready for Molli Blou's 3rd Birthday

The Cottage Meeting is over - great success, by the way.  Then Mom and Tony arrived the following day for a quick visit.  They headed home on Friday.  

So after taking a day off I started pulling items out of my stash and made a couple trips to the city for supplies to work on the birthday banner for Molli Blou's third birthday, per Jess' request.  (I better get a move on, the party is only a couple weeks away.)

I am just loving all of the photos that Jojo posted on Facebook.  Here is another layout using her photos. 

I noticed last night that Jess also posted a BUNCH of photos on Facebook that she took over the weekend.  Hmmmm.... I think there might be a few more layouts in my future with photos from Fort Benning.  LOL...

*Update* Jess and Dustin to Fort Hood in June!

I talked with Jess briefly today and I misunderstood the text I received on Sunday.  Apparently, Dustin along with Jess and Molli Blou will be reporting for duty on June 26 at Fort Hood, Texas.  Jess said that Dustin expects to be going to Afghanistan but that is not 100% for sure yet either and if he does go, they won't know exactly when or for how long.

Stay tuned for more details as they arrive.

Jess said there were some pictures on Facebook of their trip to see Dustin this past weekend.  I snagged some photos from Dustin's aunt, Jodi Elm's photo album to make a couple layouts.  Jojo has some of the best photos of Dustin, Molli and Jess.  The two layouts below are just of Dustin and Molli, I'll get Jess in the next one.  LOL...

 

Jess and Dustin find out where they're going to be stationed

Jess was able to go visit Dustin this weekend.  She texted me this morning and said they have found out that they will be stationed in Fort Hood, Texas.

Once Dustin is done with basic training June 18 he will go to Afghanistan for 90-100 days.  Then they will go to Fort Hood in the October timeframe.

Cooney Mountain

The snow made it to South Carolina yesterday.

Julie sent me a couple of pictures yesterday and then a few more this morning.  I hope they have some groceries because I think their county only has one snow truck and it's hard telling how long it will be before it makes to the north end of the county.  ;-D

Here the snow is just starting to fall, you can see a dusting in the grass.  (This is enough to send most Carolinans into a panic... and don't think I'm kidding!)

This is Cooney Mountain this morning!  Wow, they got quite a bit of snow and it looks like someone has made it down Cooney Mountain a few times this morning.

And yeah, I'm sure one of these days she's going to hate me for posting this on the web, I'm sure.  ;-D

It truly is a small world

So if you are a Facebook fan you might have seen my status this morning.

Laura Umphenour is on the couch with some snacks, a diet root beer, laptop on and the TV tuned into the disaster movie marathon on SyFy... doesn't get much better than that! (I know that makes me a total geek.)

Okay, so I haven't been a complete slug today.  I did get out and shovel the snow off my sidewalk, go to the church and create the PowerPoint for tomorrow's service and stopped at Baker's for groceries - mostly snacks!  ;-D

During a commercial I decided to change the sheets and do some laundry.  (I figure I can fold and watch my disaster movies at the same time.)  When I took the fitted sheet out of the linen closest I looked for the tag to see if I had the right size and I noticed the tag had a "Springs" logo and further down on the tag it read "Springs Industries, Fort Mill SC". 

How cool is that?!  Same place the Cooney's live.  The "Springs" have stuff everywhere in Fort Mill including parks, houses, the greenway (great walking and biking paths), and a lot of other stuff.  But I had no idea I had one of their products in my house. 

Yeah, I know it's not earth shattering news... but I still think it's pretty cool!

Molli Blou reaches a milestone

Molli Blou used her toddler potty chair for the first time.  Jess was so excited that she sent me a picture to celebrate the event.  (I told her Molli is going to hate us when she's older and sees all these photos.)

Julie said the potty chair makes happy noises when the chair gets used.  LOL... what will they think of next?  Jess said they sang and danced and clapped and made the whole event a celebration so Molli will want to do it again.  Too funny!
