While packing this evening I watched this Hallmark Hall of Fame special, The Courageous Heart of Irena Sendler on ABC. Irena was a Polish social working during World War II who helped save 2,500 children from the Nazis.
It was a very inspiring story. After it was over, they had a voice over that said the story had it's start in a small town in Kansas. Curious, I went online to see the details. Imagine my surprise when that small town was UNIONTOWN!

I'm not sure why I've never heard of this before, but it truly is an amazing story.
