Check out this cool video of Jace skatboarding. I also found out via Facebook that Jace is now on the Zigboard Skateboard team.
Tell Stephen this is a very cool video, I need to take some lessons from him.

Well I broke out the Jayhawk Linn T-shirt last weekend in support of Quentin playing his first basketball game last weekend. He's on the 5th grade basketball team at Jayhawk Linn.
His team beat the Pleasanton Blu-jays. Ugh... the first time I had to wear the Jayhawk shirt it would have to be against the Blu-jays!
It was fun to watch Quentin play. Especially when he was guarding Hunter Secrest who was playing on the Pleasanton team. They are good buddies and you can see them hanging out together at the Linn County Fair or anywhere else they happen to be at the same place.
Good Job, Quentin!

Last week Brena and I went to watch Breanna and Brenton play basketball at Jayhawk-Linn High School. Also there were Danea, DeWayne, Deanna, Dalton, Cassidy, Dad and Jed.
Unfortunately, Uniontown didn't win either of the games, but it was fun to watch them play.
The most exciting part of the game was during the last minute of Breanna's game. With 29.4 seconds left Breanna hit a 3 pointer to put her team up by one point. However, the Jayhawk girls came right back and hit two 2 pointers to finish the game three points ahead.

I attended the second night of the basketball tournament on Thursday.
I have to confess that on this night I took more pictures of Breanna and Brenton's fan club than I did the actual game. (Sorry Bre and Brenton!)
Family and friends that were at the game to watch Breanna and Brenton play were: Danea, David, Dalton, DeWayne, Edward Lee, Jed, Natalie, Brena, Breck, Bret, Katie, Quentin, Mollie, Trenton, Kaden, Kasen, Karsten, Abbie (Grossnicklaus), and myself.
Here's the family enjoying some goodies from the concession stand before the first game.
Kaden enjoying a push-pop.
Breanna on defense.
Another picture of Bre.
Breanna scored the first 5 points of the game. Here she is shooting a 3 pointer.
Dad with Breck.
Mollie and Brena are big fans of Cousin David, they love his Donald Duck impersonation.
Brena turning on the kilowatts when she sees the camera pointed her way.
Mollie in deep conversation with Uncle DeWayne.
This is what Miss Moo does when she notices I have the camera on her. LOL!

Brenton waiting for the ball.
Quentin has been hanging out with Grandpa Ed too much, he spend quite a bit of time telling stories to the McKee boys who were cracking up the whole time.
Beautiful Breck... she's lost her socks and shoes somewhere.

This past week was the mid-season basketball tournament at Pleasanton High School, which meant I got to see Breanna and Brenton play quite a bit of ball.
Tuesday night Brenton was the only one that played. Breanna had been sick for several days and had only been to one practice so her coach told her to sit the first game out.
Brenton, a freshman at Uniontown, got quite a bit of playing time. It was a close game all four quarters, but Jayhawk pulled ahead by 3 points in the last couple of minutes.
Some of my favorite shots during the game:
I always think Brenton is a pretty tall young man, but he wasn't looking so tall against this Jayhawk player. He hand his hands full defending this fellow.
Here he is going up strong for the bucket. He got fouled on this hot and shot freethrows.
Here he is trying to go straight up against this players shot on the baseline.
Breanna couldn't play but she is wearing her colors in support of the Eagles.

Deanna and I traveled to Belle Plaine to watch Kallie Jo (#45) play in her final basketball game of the season. Kallie Jo's team was undefeated last year and they continued the streak this year, winning today's championship game 37-26.
Kallie Jo scored 6 points and had quite a few rebounds, we aren't sure exactly how many of those. Kallie is a great player - she is agressive, takes the ball strong to the bucket, she is an awesome rebounder, she had some incredible assists (she is a very good passer) and she is a very aggressive defensive player and stole the ball or knocked it away from her opponent several times.
All in all it was a very exciting game to watch her play, the icing was the fact they won!
Getting the ball on the fast break.
Coy teasing a little girl that he likes. She's trying to get his DSI, he took a picture of her on it.
Kallie in the high post postion getting the ball.
She was fouled taking a shot and is shooting a free throw. Kallie had 6 points in the game.
Kallie Jo posting up and asking for the ball. Kallie is a
strong player in the paint and isn't afraid of the physical game.
Coy and his buddy shooting air balls while their team is shooting free throws.
Final Score 37 - 26 and an undefeated season.
Congratulations Kallie Jo and the Lady Cardinals!
I have to throw in one more funny photo. Before the game I was taking pictures of of Kallie Jo, Jerry, and Jerry's mom - Mary. Check out those noses... What we didn't notice until we were looking at the pictures on the computer is Deanna's hand - it looks like she's flipping off Mary. Well, when we saw that and the two Grandma's expressions we started making up sayings to go along with "the bird".

Recently, I drove to Yates Center to watch Breanna and Brenton play in a basketball tournament. Denise and Kallie Jo traveled from Cheney to watch the game, also; so it was really great to see them, also.
Brenton is a freshman and didn't start the game, but he got to play probably half of the game. He is a great player. He is a very good rebounder and is not intimidated to go up against the older players at all. He plays underneath so he was fouled several times as he took the ball up for a shot in the paint, which meant he also got to shoot quite a few free throws. He's pretty good at that, too. (Better than I ever was... lol.)
I couldn't tell you the score, but Brenton's team won by a lot. Congratulations, Brenton!
Breanna's team played for first and second place. The game was nip and tuck throughout the first half and the first part of the second half... then the other team made a run and pulled ahead. The Eagles were never able to catch up after that run.
Breanna's team won second place in the tournament. Sorry you didn't win the game, Breanna, but congratulations on winning second place in the tournament.

Kolbee placed 4th in a golf competition this week as his college's golf team competed against the Independence golf team.
This was one of Kolbee's better finishes of the year so he was pretty excited about the result.
Here is a photo of Kolbee taken in May at the Kansas State High School Golf finals in Salina, Kansas.
Way to go, Kolbee!!

I received a couple of ecstatic texts from Julie today (if text messages can be "ecstatic"... LOL). Jace scored a goal in each of his two games today - that's TWO (2) goals in one day!
Julie even commented in one of her text messages (the first goal) that it was a pretty shot that went into the far right corner. Jace kicks with his left foot and he has a wicked fast shot, so I know if he had a good shot on goal it would be nearly impossible to defend.
I think Julie's last text says it all "He had an awesome day!!!! We are so proud of him!!!!"
Congratulations, Jace. I am so very proud of you, too!
(This was a shot of Jace I took at one of his games in September when I was in South Carolina.)

I was going to one of Mollie's games this summer and surprise surprise... the team she was playing included Aden, Randen and Cooper! How cool is that?!! And Cooper and Courtney were with them.
I only got one picture of Courtney because she actually took my camera and took a lot of these pictures. I did some videotaping of the game.
So most of these photos are courtesy of Courtney Raye!
Bret giving Mollie some instructions.
Cooper trying NOT to have his picture taken.
Cooper and his adorable smile.
Warming up to the camera... just a little.
Aden (left) and Canyon (right) warming up.
Aden asking coach some questions.
Canyon... looks like he's waiting for a ball to come his way.
Dog gone... I can't pick it up.
Getting the ball to first place.
Randen patiently waiting for someone to hit a ball to him.
Aden got another way... it pays to be in the pitcher position.
Aden throwing the ball to first.
Moo (Mollie) in the dugout with her team.
Coach Bret explaining what Mollie should do if she gets the ball.
Aden has been moved to third base.
Looks like Canyon is whistling. He must not be getting many balls on his side of the field.
Aden and Canyon having a good time in the outfield.
